TOF in Italian

A popular TOF post is now available in Italian.  The faithfulness of the translation and the nature of the site on which it appears is so far unknown.

  1. And there are 23 comments to the Italian. Is everything just better in Italian? Or are they that much more talkative? Or more readily inspired? It's a mystery.

  2. Hmmm. Somehow resurrected a Paleolithic blog above. But it's me.

  3. That is enjoyable in so many ways. At least two.

  4. I think you should celebrate appropriately. It's perfectly ordinary to eat cookies for breakfast in Italy and ice cream for breakfast in Sicily (clear signs of an ancient and advanced civilization), so I think you could reasonably have, say, a tiramisu for breakfast in honor of your translation to a distant realm.

  5. Until an expert comes along: I set the English and Italian beside each other and compared random passages. It looks a straightforward and direct translation.

  6. Being the translator, I would say the translation is perfect... but this would clearly be a case of conflict of interests... :)
Joking apart, I made my best to give as close a version to original text as possible, trying to keep at least in part its humor (which makes TOF's writing so enjoyable). Not an easy task, anyway.
For what concerns the nature of our site, I may just say that it is Aristotelian-Thomist from the philosophical standpoint, Roman Catholic from the religious standpoint, and critical of the Darwinian paradigm from the epistemological standpoint. Plus, we're all hardcore fans of the ol' good Galileian scientific method - to which we always try to stick in our reflections.
Finally, I would like to thank again TOF for the opportunity he gave us to let a little bit of his activity known to a larger audience!
